The President of the National Agency for Public Procurement (ANAP), Liviu Bostan, together with the members of the SIPOCA 625 project team had an online meeting with the representatives of the World Bank (WB) on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.
The discussions focused on the implementation of the World Bank’s support activities in evaluating the public procurement system and developing an action plan in this area, providing support to contracting authorities to improve the procurement process, professionalizing and developing staff careers involved in public procurement.
We remind you that ANAP has concluded a technical assistance services agreement with the World Bank, whose main objective is to continue supporting the implementation of the National Strategy in the field of public procurement, by creating a framework of competencies.
The talks were opened by Tatiana Proskuryakova, country director at the World Bank, who stressed the crucial role of public procurement for the country’s development, reaffirming the support that the World Bank will provide for this purpose.
In his turn, Liviu Bostan acknowledged the importance of ANAP’s partnership with the Bank and the valuable knowledge and technical assistance provided by the Bank in the past years. He also mentioned the challenges brought by the Covid-19 pandemic last year and how the Bank continued to provide high-quality support to his team.
Both institutions agreed on the need to make further efforts to achieve the results of the project.
